Alcatel-Lucent today appointed Vivek Mohan as the president for its India operations.
Mohan has been heading the services business of Alcatel – Lucent in South Asia following Alcatel’s acquisition of Lucent in 2006.
The company also announced the appointment of Ravi Sharma, president of South Asia business, as advisor to Frédéric Rose, president of Europe, Africa and Asia (EAA) business, on Asian Regional Operators. In his new role, Sharma will support the business in South & South East Asia and India.
A leading financial daily had reported earlier that Sharma has quit Alcatel – Lucent.

Opera Software has announced that its Opera Mini browser is now available on phones enabled with Qualcomm's BREW platform.
With Opera Mini, now available on BREW devices, operators and handset manufacturers will be able to leverage Opera Software's technology to quickly drive feature-rich BREW handsets to the mass market and enable users to access their favorite Web sites from the convenience of their mobile device.
