Microsoft India aims to create new opportunities in education: expands 'Partners in Learning' program
Atanu Dey is working on a project idea to re-engineer the whole system of education so that it is effective, efficient, and relevant to the world of today. After spending several years in US, working for corporates like HP and doing his PhD on the Indian telecommunications sector, he is now spending time in India to transform our education system.
He has his business plan ready and funding in place, and is now looking for suitable team members who are passionate about transforming education in India.
Google took another step toward the company's stated goal of indexing the world's information by adding the entire collection of public domain historical resources from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the Wisconsin Historical Society Library to its Google Books Library Project.
Paul Graham recently gave a lecture at MIT, encouraging undergrad students to create their own startups after they graduate.
Reading this article made me think of the reasons why people pursue masters education:
1. More knowledge
2. Credentials that will help them get a good job and be able to progress in their careers
3. Opportunity to do research
For most people going to grad school is a step to secure their career with more credentials and knowledge. Offcourse people who want to pursue research do not come into this category. They have to go to grad school followed by a PhD.
