Blogging for dollars

One of my favourite magazine Business2.0 ( it had 2.0 many years before the current 2.0 craze ) has a cover story on Blogging for dollars, very interesting on the rising importance of blogging and the earning potential it offers to good bloggers.

Some excerpts.

Blogs today benefit from what might be termed uneconomies of scale: They are so cheap to create and operate that a lone blogger or a small team can, with the ever-expanding reach of the Internet, amass vast audiences and generate levels of profit on a per-employee basis that traditional media companies can only fantasize about.

Indian govenrment, on blockade: It wasn't us! Might take action.

Indian govenrment, on blockade: It wasn't us! Might take action. -The Indian government, understandably embarrassed by the blame it is getting for the bungled censorship of a list of select blogs, is pointing the finger at the Internet service providers, and might take action.

This from Rediff India Abroad: In a press release on Thursday, the Department of Telecom (DoT) said it has asked Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to explain why action should not be taken against them for unintentionally blocking some Web sites. This refers to the blocking of the Blogspot, Typepad and Yahoo! Geocities domains by ISPs across the country since July 15, after being asked to block just some sub-domains hosted by those services.

What if Steve Jobs blogged ?

Read this interesting blog post on What if Steve Jobs Blogged ?

Apple Legal is quick to take action against those outside the company who are believed to be revealing trade secrets, so it's no surprise that Apple employees are a pretty tight-lipped bunch. With the notable exception of Surfin' Safari, there is almost complete radio silence in the blogosphere via The Campus at Cupertino. Until now.

The Best Bloggers in India

India Uncut is the Best Indiblog at the Indibloggies 2005. Amit Varma, author of India Uncut and a Mumbai based journalist is a maverick of quick posts and anything that starts with a "C", cows and cricket for instance. He not only bagged 25% of the votes cast for the category but also has the distinction to bag 225 votes, the highest number of votes bagged by any blog/site in this competition (yes, we know that voting for this category was mandatory but we are talking statistics here) and emerged a clear winner.
