Ranjan Das, President and CEO, SAP Indian Subcontinent shared the following statistics at the SAP Summit 2008 held at Grand Hyatt on 4th June 2008.
- SAP India was the fastest growing country within SAP Worldwide in 2007. It witnessed triple digit growth both in terms of software license revenue and customer acquisition over 2007.
- Over the first quarter of 2008, SAP India registered growth of 67% in software license revenue. It began its operations in 1996, and now has over 3150 customers and 5000+ employees.
- SAP is most mentioned "Top-of-Mind" ERP Vendor as per Gartner
- Business Objects, an SAP company, is the market leader in the Business Intelligence space with a market share of 28% as per IDC.
- SAP Education is growing at the rapid rate of over 100% YOY in India, recently signing it's 50th E-learning center.
- SAP will be investing USD 1 billion in India between 2006 - 2010.
- Currently SAP has a direct presence in 9 Indian cities, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
- The 3rd largest subsidiary for SAP in terms of employees. It has a total of 5161 employees comprising of 3938 at Labs, 887 at GDC and 336 at Field.
- Over its first ten years in India, SAP built a customer base of 1000. With triple digit growth over 2007 and the continued momentum, it now stands 3150.
- AT SAP SUMMIT' 07, Subhiksha Retail, India's largest retail chain, was announced as the 1000th SME Customer in India. This figure has more than doubled to currently stand at 2300.
