Rediff.com and anECHO come together to provide India’s online platform to promote non-commercial artist

Mumbai, September 6, 2007: Adding a new dimension to its social multimedia platform iShare, Rediff.com India’s one of the leading online community portal for global Indians, announced a unique endeavor to provide India’s first free online platform http://anecho.rediff.com to promote non-commercial artists in association with anECHO - a young outfit dedicated to promoting non-commercial artist.

The website http://anecho.rediff.com, will provide a
platform to young and budding non-commercial artist to showcase their talent online, and will also get an opportunity to be promoted at offline forums to get a foothold in the music industry.
The initiative will act as a catalyst for the artists and help in bridging the gap between budding artist and the music industry professionals at no cost to the artists.

Extending their support to the initiative the launch saw icons from the music fraternity like Shibani Kashyap and the members of the popular band Kailasa. The highlight of the evening was the live performances from various upcoming bands like Vayu, and Dream Out loud which left audience asking for more.

Speaking at the launch, Manish Agarwal, Vice President Marketing Rediff.com said, “Rediff wishes to provide all budding artists a platform to showcase their talent without seeking anyone’s patronization. By combining the reach of our audio-video platform iShare to millions of Rediff users along with an offline partner anECHO, we hope to provide every artist a guaranteed audience and the well deserved recognition to explore new possibilities.”

To participate in this initiative, all one has to do is just shoot/record their performance in an audio or video format and upload it on RediffiShare. Once the video is uploaded, anECHO team will evaluate the performance and feature it on the dedicated website. Depending on the response anECHO team will get in touch with the participant to take the association forward.

The platform is also associated with www.petaDishoom.com, the youth arm of PETA India, which is actively involved in supporting musicians who help create awareness about animals rights issues.
