Engineering Manager, Software Development-HCP

Responsible for all the software development within the health care products division. Directs the software engineering function in developing, releasing, and maintaining software and firmware for a microcontroller based medical monitoring system according to business needs while meeting stringent FDA regulatory requirements. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.

Candidate will be responsible for software architectural definition, detailed descriptions of user Interfaces, and functional testing and verification.

Solid design experience in embedded system software for microprocessors and microcontrollers, real-time and digital signal processing, as well as high level application software.

Ability to contribute throughout entire product life cycle and high personal commitment to organization and documentation are paramount.

Ensure that designs conform to standards/specifications

Must be proficient with C/C++, and assembly language 8051.

Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting IVDs and Biologics.
10+ years design experience and at least 3 years software management experience. Good written and verbal communication skills are essential.
Minimum 5 years experience in firmware design of embedded systems for low cost, high volume manufacturing.
Experience in working in a development environment with a disciplined product development process.
Experience in writing product requirements and design specifications.
Experience in working on a development team with an emphasis on minimizing time to market.
Experience in design for manufacture of low cost, high volume electronic products.
Experience in designing medical devices in an FDA regulated environment is desirable.
Experience working in team environments is required.

Deliver high quality software within budget and schedule.
Lead and coach the software team members to be proficient and disciplined in embedded software engineering practices.
Responsible for the quality of software development.

Candidate should have a BS (MS preferred) in Computer Science
