Mobile technologies influence our life at a significant
proportion. Recently, Mobile IT companies and telecom operators started to
promote themselves as “a life style” company.
The objective of the mLife Events is to discover, promote and disseminate the
knowledge of the tools, applications and services, which “make mobile
technologies to fit and add value to our life”. mLife Events explore the
impact of mobile technologies on individuals, societies, governments and
economies.
mLife Events are normally held during the first half of September every
year - a July date may also be possible - and are composed of a
number of conferences, which are all prime events in their respective filed.
The participants to the conferences are a good balance of three interdependent
groups of professionals and organizations: Public sector, Private sector and
Researchers. The conference format is as interactive as possible via a
number of plenary sessions, practice talks, research presentations and
exhibitions.
This year two conferences are being held: the EURO mGOV and mSOCIETY
conferences. Next year, with the addition of First International Conference on
Mobile Development, three conferences are being planned. Information on current
conferences can be found at http://www.mgovernment.org/events/
The conference series are promoted by the Mobile Government Consortium
International (mGCI), which aims to sustain continuity of the organization and
the high quality of the conferences for the forthcoming years in line with its
objective to support the positive impact of mobile technologies to social and
economical welfare for the societies.
The mGCI is soliciting proposals from public and private sector teams and
institutions to host the mLife events for the year 2009 and onwards.
