Rewarding Angel Investors

Freeman Murray has this interesting blog post on VentureWoods looking at alternate ways for angels to profit from their investment. It rightly assumes that Angels rarely make a decent exit, and the money can be perpetually locked. So what could be the way out ? How long should an angel investor wait for returns ? Should he start withdrawing from the revenues ?
It is a really good post, and certainly clear answers to this will raise the confidence of Angels to fund startups.
I have done a few plans recently which allows to payback investment in 6 to 12 months, and at the same time it can keep seeking more funds for the next 6 to 12 months. Hoping to perfect the model in some time.
