The impact of the change is Information Media and Internet is the age of Participation. Readers are not passive recipients of news, but participate in the process. You decide, which is the media? The TV channel or newspaper? Or the SMS platform? Or the web, forums, blogs & social networking!

The print media is yet to make up its mind whether to compete or cooperate with the new challenger - The Internet & the Blogs! Print journalism players have a Web presence, that is mostly the result of a domino effect rather than a carefully thought out strategy. Sadly, the egoist attitude of the editorials always think their domains as 'own territory' but unfortunately, no more on the web. Here rules the righteousness. With Internet gaining popularity, the dynamics of readership changes. The fundamental principles of captive audiences changes. The Internet changed the way commerce and business functions. There lies the real challenge for the media to compete. Many of them remain content cum distribution centric activities with rising expenses, no marketing gains except the politicial triggered liasons!

NASSCOM has announced the launch of the first ever National Skills Registry for IT professionals at the India–US Information Security Summit 2006.

I guess smaller BPO companies would be the major beneficiaries of NSR.

This central repository will contain personal, professional and education information about employees of the IT and BPO industry. NDML, a subsidiary of National Securities Depository Ltd will be responsible for creating, operating and maintaining database.

Only to be seen, IT Hackers don't prowl on the Database!

Google, the Internet search giant could drive profound changes in the media, entertainment and technology landscape in 2006. It's gonna be a Google fueled paranoia with Google cornering the market on low cost PCS! The Google-branded computers would be manufactured in China and sold below $199 in Walmart stores throughout North America. Loaded with Free Gmail accounts and one gig of online storage space, a googlized version of Linux, the mini-computers would run what was essentially a Google made operating system, employing Google's vast array of free, membership based services, server-side software features along with the host of other real and anticipated Google features.
